Last month I wrote about the case of Vincent and Pauline Matherick, the Christian couple who were being prevented from acting as foster parents by Somerset County Council, because they refused to promote homosexuality to an eleven year-old child in their care. They were also told that the child, for whom they had cared for two years, was to be removed from their care.
And, last Friday, social services went ahead with their threat, and took the child. Now, however, I read that the council has backed down, and that the Mathericks will now be able to continue fostering children. So, for once, common sense would appear to have prevailed.
Good news!
